Precision care for luxury fibres

Silk fibres are smooth, protein-based and highly lustrous. Generic on-the-floor carpet cleaning risks dye migration, watermarking and pile distortion. Our specialist process stabilises dyes, manages moisture and supports the foundation so your rug keeps its clarity, drape and signature silk sheen.

Our Silk Rug Cleaning Process

Dye & fibre testing — solubility checks and dye stability assessment; corrective stabilisation if required.
Dry soil removal — gentle mechanical dusting and air-dusting to extract grit from pile and foundation.
Controlled pre-treatment — pH-appropriate solutions applied with low agitation to preserve lustre.
Immersive or low-moisture wash — chosen by fibre stability: supported wash bed to prevent stretch or ripple.
Pure/deionised water rinse — removes residues; neutrality verified for dye clarity and hand feel.
Humidity-managed drying — temperature and RH controlled; flat-dry on screens with airflow management.
Blocking & finishing — corrects minor distortions; pile set and sheen restored; optional protector.

Silk-specific risks we manage

Dye migration & crocking — mitigated through testing, stabilisation and controlled moisture.
Watermarking — prevented by even wet-out, flat support and RH-controlled dry.
Pile distortion — avoided using low agitation and supported handling; pile set during finishing.
Urine contamination — pH correction and decontamination to reduce dye risk and odour.
